World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading
Upgrades increase the value of certain numeric statistics on armor, weapons and rings. They also boost extra bonuses such as PvE damage and crit chance.
For instance an item with the upgrade template that is ending in % will gain an attack damage of 3% each time it upgrades (relative to its previous value).
The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost increases with the item's level.
Components
Upgrade components are items that can be slotted into armor, weapons, and trinkets in order to provide a stat bonus or extra effect when they're used. These can be obtained by crafting, buying from vendors or trading with other players, or looting. Certain upgrades also come with special cosmetic effects.

A suffix or prefix can be added to an upgrade, changing the name of the item it is used on (for instance, 'Canthan Armor Insignia,' becomes Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades can increase the Mark Rarity or Level of an item, which lets players to create stronger versions using the smallest amount of Upgrade crystals than they require to achieve the same level with normal methods.
A boost upgrade can alter the attack or defense properties of a weapon, or armor. After the player has completed the cutscene and defeated the Crazed Mechanist, these upgrades can be crafted at the Portative Forging Station. Glyphs
Glyphs can be used to improve the Paragon Board by placing them in sockets with special functions. Glyphs can boost the performance of nodes within a radius, and include any pre-existing affixes. Glyphs can be upgraded in numerous ways. We recommend upgrading them as fast as you can to level 15.
In the final game, you will often find that the best way to improve your equipment is to use Glyphs. They are the only upgrade components that can be upgraded straight to level 15 and offer significant boosts to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to get higher nodes faster.
Glyphs, which is the only upgrade component that can be removed without restriction and then replaced with no restrictions are the most popular. The only exception is legendary equipment that requires an Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and then re-install.
Each Glyph has a particular range of values that it can improve a statistic by. The value is displayed when you choose the Glyph in your inventory. You can choose to replace it with another Glyph of the same rank or a higher rank, which will increase the overall value of the glyph.

Leveling
