Path of Exile Item Upgrading
The best method to improve your gear in Path of Exile is through upgrade of your items. This allows you to upgrade your gear without having rely on expensive trades or drops. This article will help you understand how to upgrade your gear.
Upgrades to equipment provide an additional bonus to the item's stats. The bonus is depending on the rarity and strength of the upgrade component.
Components
Upgrade components make your weapons and armour better. They can be found by destroying enemies, buying them from karma vendors or finding them in item-spheres. They can also be salvaged from equipment that has them or by using a high-tier salvage kit like the Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool. Upgrade components are not destroyed when they are removed from an item.
The main purpose of upgrade components is to enable an item to be upgraded, but they also serve other purposes. They can be stacked to increase the level of experience gained from upgrading existing equipment or weapons. They can be forged to give additional benefits. A crafted glyph can increase the upgrade chances of its target while an upgrade boosts the attack or defense attributes of a weapon.
By selecting an upgrade template from the GUI will allow you to bind it to an item. It will display a list of upgrade components that the item can be upgraded to. You can also use the workbench when selecting an upgrade template. In either instance the item will be upgraded once enough upgrade components are collected.
Each component has its own experience multiplier, which determines how much more experience an item will gain when it is upgraded with the component. For instance, organic components offer an experience multiplier that is higher than mechanical ones. It is recommended to upgrade organic components first until you reach the next rank in the weapon or equipment and then switch to the mechanical upgrades.
Each item comes with a maximum upgrade number that can be received. The number of upgrades available is determined by the upgradeable rank and the type of upgrade for the upgradeable item. For example, the highest possible upgrade for a weapon is a weapon of tier 10. However, the most popular weapon upgrades are the tier 6 weapon and a tier 5 armor upgrade.
Sets
A set is a group of items that share a bonus. Each item can be upgraded at minimum once. The upgrade increases the bonuses that are guaranteed. The first time you upgrade the set piece or weapon, it will receive a +1 increase to its primary stat. Following upgrades, the primary stats will be increased even more (for instance the +1 bonus for 12+/13+/14+) and every time an item is upgraded, one of its stats will increase randomly.
Upgrades to a weapon may increase the damage base, which could be necessary for certain builds. Weapons can't be upgraded for an increased maximum defence roll than their base. It is a good way to improve the value of certain sets and unique items, however it's important to note that they may not be better than a high-level runeword in any build.
If you're upgrading an item with an added bonus the item can be rerolled a single time, and its guarantee will reset to 0. Rerolling will cost item upgrading of power dice as bringing an item, however the new item will have additional bonuses. Upgrades can be made at the NPC [ArmorBoboko. Boboko in Central Flarine. To upgrade an item, you'll need a power die of each kind (Dice 4 or 6 drop from monsters 21+ and Giants; Dice 7 drops from bosses) and the proper amount of Minerals and Erons. They can be purchased with Gold at the crafting table, or in the Ultra Collection. NPCs also offer special rewards for each level of the upgrade process. This reward can be rerolled a second time and the reroll will be made using the same materials as the original item.
Rerolling
A player is able to reroll any item acquired in the game if they have enough tokens to be able to do so. If an upgraded item is rerolled, it will be exchanged for a version at a level 1 of the same item in another set. Reroll tokens can be bought at the store for an amount of in-game currency, however they cannot be refunded. The new upgraded item will have the same bonuses of the original one however, its stats will be different too.
In addition to rerolling items players can also change the identification of any item by interacting with an upgrader NPC. This will change the identification from an armor to a weapon or vice versa, while retaining its base stats and attributes that are required. The change is permanent and will affect all characters who are wearing the gear.
The player can also upgrade their level of an item for any equipment equipped. This is accomplished by interacting with an upgrader NPC, and then obtaining upgrade components. It will cost a specific number of crests and Valorstones according to the upgrade track and kind. For weapons, each upgrade will add 5percent to the damage.
Upgrading upgrade item can boost its power however it can also lower its quality. Therefore, it is important to strike a balance between the two. Some items are not worth upgrading, while other items require upgrades to reach their full potential. For example one player might want to upgrade a piece of breakpoint armor that comes with an interesting modifier ( percent chance of blocking or FHR) to discover what it could be.
Rerolling is a popular practice in Genshin Impact and other gacha-based games. It is a method used by players in order to get an item or character that they wouldn't otherwise have. The process of obtaining these items can be expensive and time-consuming, and the RNG gods don't always want to play. The only options left are to invest real money or grind a lot. Rerolling is a popular feature in Genshin Impact.
Leveling

When upgrading an item, you can choose to increase the level of the weapon or armor. This feature is not available in the current version of the game. I think this feature was intended to add some value to expensive and rare items. However, since the majority of gear is replaced fairly quickly and can only be leveled up to a certain level, you will generally replace it before it gets too old. It is also not worth upgrading items with gem sockets, as the power of the stone will outweigh any increase in ilvl.
You will see a small window when you click on the upgrade option on an item. It will show the template for the item, its crest, and the cost of Valorstone to increase the item's level. Weapons and armor will have different costs, with the former generally being more expensive. The upgrade template lists the stats that will be added to an upgraded item, along with its current base ilvl.
The cost of the Valorstone and the crest is calculated based on the item's current Ilvl and the upgrade templates. Additionally, the ilvl of the new upgraded item will be decreased by the upgrade template's lvl decrease percentage. For example an upgrade of 8% will decrease the weapon's ilvl by 8 to 88%.
In addition to the base ilvl increase, the item will also get upgrades in other stats, such as critical strike damage, PvE damage and dodge, block and parry rating. These increases are based on the upgrade template.
In the upgrade template you can see the amount of damage or defense the item will suffer after it is leveled up. This is displayed below the cost and upgrade percentages. Aside from practice equipment, all weapons and armor gain the same stats when they are leveled up. The market will determine the value of these stats. A weapon or armor with perfect rolls can command more than a non-upp’d version. This is also true for other armor pieces, such as tiaras and circlets.
